ASFP inaugurates new office and training academy

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) officially opened its new office and training academy on Wednesday, 15th May.

The event, as reported by the ASFP, was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor Jaswant Singh Birdi, and Lady Mayoress Krishna.

Attendees included ASFP staff, members, and various guests, bringing together leaders from the passive fire industry and related organisations.

Notable participants were representatives from the British Woodworking Federation, British Coatings Federation, Children’s Burns Trust, Women in Fire Safety, and the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.

State-of-the-art facilities at the new ASFP headquarters

The new ASFP office and academy provide a modern working environment for the ASFP team and its members.

The facilities include dedicated meeting and conference spaces, such as a 50-person theatre suitable for small seminars.

Additionally, there is a dedicated podcast studio designed to offer a professional setting for high-quality video production.

The academy aims to deliver cutting-edge training and technical assistance to the passive fire protection sector.

ASFP Chair Clive Miles and Managing Director Mike Ward shared their thoughts during the event.

Clive Miles said: “Today marked a momentous occasion for the ASFP as we celebrated the official opening of our new office and academy.

“It was a wonderful day that showcased the culmination of our efforts in establishing a home for the Association and its members.”

Mike Ward highlighted the long-term impact of the ASFP, saying: “Over the course of nearly 50 years, the ASFP has continually brought about meaningful change to the fire safety sector.

“Today, we mark a new beginning for the Association, offering more facilities to our members than ever before.”

Ward expressed gratitude towards the ASFP member base and staff: “We thank our generous member base and dedicated staff for their tireless work in developing an HQ that suits our needs now and well into the future.

“It is with deepest pride that the ASFP steps into this new chapter of our history with a place to call home.”
