Blackline Safety announces major contract in South Africa

Blackline Safety Corp. has announced a $1.9 million deal with a South African energy company.

As reported by Blackline Safety, this is the largest contract for the company in its Middle East & Africa (MEA) region and marks its first significant contract in Africa.

The energy firm purchased approximately 500 G7c devices for plant workers and nearly 500 G6 devices to protect contractors on site.

The purchase also included G7 and G6 Docks, used for calibrating, bump testing, and charging the wearable devices.

The energy company has standardized on Blackline devices across its entire organization.

This move reflects a growing trend of companies recognising the value of the Blackline platform, which replaces various legacy products.

Product features and customer feedback

Peter Attalla, Blackline Safety Vice President of International Sales, commented on the deal: “We’re pleased that the company has selected Blackline’s products and services.

By the end of our first demo, the company realized that by choosing Blackline, they will get industry-leading connected safety technology across their operation while greatly simplifying their service providers and device management.”

The G7 wearable, known for its multi-gas detection, SOS latch, fall and no motion detection, two-way voice, and real-time connectivity, provides a crucial safety lifeline in emergencies.

The G6 wearable single gas detector, which also features real-time connectivity and an SOS button, enhances worker protection.

Both devices allow for quick and informed responses during incidents.

Implications for the region

This contract represents a significant step for Blackline Safety in the African market.

The standardization on Blackline devices by the South African energy firm underscores the efficacy and reliability of Blackline’s safety solutions.

The adoption of these devices ensures better protection for plant workers and contractors, highlighting the importance of modern safety technology in high-risk environments.

The integration of these safety measures is expected to improve overall operational safety and efficiency for the energy company.
