Acquisition secures future of PJ Fire CO2 product line
CheckFire Group has acquired Chesterfield-based PJ Fire Ltd to strengthen its UK operations and safeguard the continued manufacture of PJ Fire’s renovated and remanufactured CO2 fire extinguishers.
According to CheckFire Group, the move supports its strategic growth across the North of England and protects PJ Fire’s established product portfolio.
PJ Fire background and legacy
Founded in 2007, PJ Fire employs 50 people and supplies fire extinguishers and ancillary products to trade customers across the UK.
Peter Cowley, founder of PJ Fire, said the acquisition marks a personal and professional milestone: “The sale of the business marks the culmination of many years of hard work, and I am delighted with this next step.

Strategic alignment with CheckFire
CheckFire’s managing director, Cameron Robins, described the acquisition as the latest development in a long-standing relationship between the two companies.

Operational continuity and leadership transition
Daniel Robins, CheckFire’s director of projects, will assume leadership of PJ Fire.
