Leadership transition at UK-based Alpine Fire

Alpine Fire has announced that Claire Owens has been appointed as the group’s chief executive officer, effective from 1 June 2025.

According to Alpine Fire, the announcement is part of a long-term succession plan for the UK-based ESG fire suppression company.

Owens succeeds Steven Nanda, who will remain with the group as executive director.

The company said the leadership change follows Owens’s tenure as managing director since joining the WestBridge-backed firm in 2024.

Alpine Fire stated that the transition will support the company’s ongoing strategic development, including acquisitions and operational integration.

Owens joined Alpine in 2024 as managing director

Alpine Fire confirmed that Owens initially joined the company in 2024.

Her appointment to the group CEO position follows what the company described as a period of strategic contributions and operational leadership.

Steven Nanda, now executive director, said: “Over the past seven months, Claire has proven to be an exceptional asset to the business, driving our strategic direction, leading the integration of DASFire, and delivering impactful day-to-day improvements.

“It is for these reasons that I, along with the team at WestBridge, am delighted to share this exciting and thoroughly well-deserved news.

“In my new role as executive director, I will continue to support Claire and the Board of Directors while remaining focused on strategic acquisitions.”

The company said that Nanda had previously led the business through key growth phases and had played a central role in its relationship with WestBridge.

New CEO outlines focus on continued growth

Claire Owens, now group CEO, said: “I want to thank Steven for his incredible leadership and dedication to Alpine.

“As I step into the role of CEO, I’m energised by the growth opportunities ahead and look forward to leading our talented teams as we continue to build on Alpine’s success and reputation as The UK’s Leading ESG Fire Suppression & Detection Company.”

The group said that Owens had already been responsible for operations across Alpine Fire and DASFire before her appointment.

According to Alpine Fire, her new role will include advancing integration efforts, overseeing expansion, and delivering on the company’s long-term strategy.

The company confirmed that she will lead a board focused on both daily operations and strategic mergers and acquisitions.

WestBridge partner comments on succession plan

Peter Barkley, Partner at WestBridge, said: “Since our investment in late 2022 we have supported the Alpine team to invest in, and develop, their talent and leadership.

“This has supported the significant growth in revenue, acquisition of DAS Fire and expansion into new end markets.

“Since Claire joined the business, she has established herself firmly as the future leader of the group, bringing fresh ideas and a huge amount of energy to the role.

“Having already adopted responsibility for the operations of both Alpine Fire and DASFire and given her involvement in our continued M&A ambitions, it is a natural next step for her to take on the role of Group CEO.

“Steve was fundamental in establishing the WestBridge partnership with Alpine Fire and has been an incredible servant to the business.

“We are delighted to support his succession plan and look forward to our continued partnership in his new role.”

WestBridge stated that it remains committed to Alpine Fire’s development strategy and ongoing expansion into new markets.

Alpine Fire to continue expansion and acquisitions

The company said it would continue to pursue acquisitions and expand into new end markets as part of its strategy.

According to Alpine Fire, Owens’s appointment will support integration of acquired businesses and strengthen leadership capabilities.

The business noted that Nanda, in his new role, will remain focused on identifying and delivering future acquisitions.

The company stated that its board of directors will continue to align its activities with growth targets set since WestBridge’s 2022 investment.

According to Alpine Fire, its succession plan reflects a broader commitment to long-term leadership stability.

The company said that operational continuity will be maintained across both Alpine Fire and DASFire under Owens’s leadership.
