Euralarm: Dave Wilkinson succeeds Brian Cunningham as Vice-Chair

As reported by Euralarm, Dave Wilkinson has been elected as Vice-Chair of Euralarm’s Services Section.

He takes over from Brian Cunningham, who previously held the position.

Wilkinson’s election marks another chapter in his long-standing association with Euralarm, having held key roles in the organisation since 2015.

Robert Thilthorpe, Chair of the Services Section, commented on Wilkinson’s appointment: “I’d like to thank Brian for his efforts as the previous Vice-Chair and I am sure that Dave will be given the support that our delegates have always given Brian and I, to help us to move the Services Section to the next level.”

Euralarm services section focuses on emerging technologies

The Services Section of Euralarm has played a key role in shaping standards and guidance for fire safety and security systems.

This includes the evolving area of remote services for these systems.

Dave Wilkinson noted the ongoing contributions of the Services Section: “The Services section has proactively and successfully contributed to the development of services standards and guidance.

“The work has been focused on the services for fire safety and security systems as well as remote services for fire safety and security.”

Wilkinson also highlighted the impact of digitalisation, which the Services Section is closely monitoring for the benefit of its members.

Digitalisation and innovation remain central priorities

In his new role, Wilkinson will continue the Services Section’s focus on digitalisation and the emerging technologies that are influencing the fire safety and security industries.

He noted that Euralarm is at the forefront of developments in this area and is committed to both innovation and addressing the challenges posed by new technologies.

Wilkinson explained: “When it comes to digitalisation the Services Section is at the forefront of the developments.

“By monitoring these emerging technologies and identifying the possibilities these technologies offer to our members, along with the challenges they bring to the market, the Services Section continues to facilitate innovation.”

Dave Wilkinson’s experience and association with BSIA

Dave Wilkinson brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as Vice Chair and Chair of Euralarm’s Security Section between 2015 and 2019.

In addition, he represents the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), a trade association for security manufacturers, installers, and Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs).

Wilkinson expressed his enthusiasm for his appointment, stating: “I am delighted to be part of the team.”

His involvement with both Euralarm and BSIA places him in a key position to influence future developments in fire and security services.
