Major fire safety upgrade announced at GITEX 2024
Du, the telecom and digital services provider, has announced a major upgrade to the UAE’s fire safety infrastructure.
In collaboration with Hassantuk, an offering by Core42, du revealed plans to integrate 21 new technology features into the Hassantuk system, aiming to enhance public safety and fire prevention across the nation.
The initiative was unveiled at GITEX 2024, under the theme “Global collaboration to forge the future AI economy”.
The enhancements include 13 hardware features, such as interactive touchscreens and AI-powered cameras, along with eight advanced application functionalities.
These upgrades aim to bolster fire safety and support the UAE’s adoption of smart city technologies.
Collaboration brings together AI and IoT for public safety
Jasim Al Awadi, Chief ICT Officer at du, said: “We are at the brink of a technological revolution in the way fire safety measures are implemented in the UAE.
“Our collaboration with Hassantuk represents a pivotal step forward in our journey to create a safer, smarter society.”
Yousef Al Harmoodi, Chief Business Development Officer, Core42, added: “The integration of du’s advanced technology into Hassantuk’s framework marks a significant step in strengthening public safety across the UAE.”
Both companies highlighted that this collaboration would help set new standards in emergency response protocols through the use of AI and IoT.
Roadmap focuses on continuous innovation
The partnership between du and Hassantuk is a long-term commitment aimed at continuously improving public safety measures in the UAE.
The project’s roadmap outlines plans for incorporating advanced hardware and software features, such as dynamic evacuation planning and contactless registration, designed to improve the speed and efficiency of emergency responses.
The collaboration will also explore future technologies to further automate response protocols, with a focus on predictive fire risk assessments.
These developments are expected to ensure the UAE remains at the forefront of fire safety technology.
Enhanced user experience through improved mobile applications
In addition to infrastructure upgrades, the project will introduce an improved mobile application interface to enhance user engagement in fire safety practices.
