Elbit Systems to provide aerial firefighting services to Israel in $100m deal

Elbit Systems Ltd. has announced that it has signed a follow-on contract worth $100 million to provide aerial firefighting services to the Israeli Ministry of National Security. The contract will last for eight years.

As part of the deal, Elbit Systems will continue to provide firefighting services to the Ministry of National Security using a fleet of 14 aircraft, along with other operational services including aircraft maintenance and preparation for flights. The squadron will be operated under the guidance of the Israeli Police and in coordination with the Fire and Rescue Authority.

Yoram Shmuely, General Manager of Elbit Systems Aerospace, expressed his satisfaction with the decision to extend the contract until the end of 2031, calling it a testament to the company’s capabilities and services. He also highlighted the squadron’s readiness to fulfill its missions in Israel and to provide assistance to neighboring countries if necessary.

Elbit Systems has been a partner of the national aerial firefighting squadron since its establishment, and the company has shown that it is well-equipped to handle the challenges of aerial firefighting. The decision to extend the contract reflects the confidence and trust that the Ministry of National Security has in Elbit Systems’ ability to provide essential firefighting services.
