FDIC International 2025 call for presentations now open

Application details and deadlines

FDIC International has announced the call for presentations for its 2025 conference, scheduled to take place from April 7 to 12, 2025.

The event organisers are seeking proposals from world-class instructors and educational leaders in the fire and rescue and emergency medical services sectors.

As reported by FDIC International, the deadline for submitting proposals is Monday, June 17, 2024, at 9:00 PM ET.

The conference will feature a variety of educational formats, including hands-on training sessions, workshops, and classroom sessions.

These formats are designed to provide comprehensive training and development opportunities for attendees.

Hands-on training sessions

The hands-on training (H.O.T.) sessions are scheduled for the pre-conference days, Monday and Tuesday.

These sessions will be conducted at local fire academies, acquired structures, and other locations where students can participate in drills.

The sessions include live fire, technical rescue, vehicle extrication, forcible entry, engine and truck company operations, and EMS.

Classes are designed to accommodate 55 students, with six instructors for non-IDLH classes and ten instructors for IDLH classes.

Exceptions to this instructor-student ratio are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Proposals must include a complete logistics list of all equipment and supplies needed for the classes.

Workshop and classroom sessions

Workshop sessions, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, will be four-hour lectures.

These sessions may include interactive tabletop exercises, computer simulations, and group activities, with classrooms set to accommodate 100 to 200 students.

Only one instructor per workshop is accepted, and internet access is not available.

Classroom sessions are 1 hour and 45-minute lectures scheduled during the regular conference on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

Like the workshops, only one instructor per classroom is accepted, and internet access is not provided.

Submission process

Interested individuals can submit their proposals through the FDIC International portal.

The portal will also allow applicants to track the status of their submissions.

If approved, presenters will receive a list of tasks to complete within the portal.

Presentation submissions are open now and will close on June 17, 2024.

Late submissions will not be accepted.
