Fire breaks out at Elephant and Castle station in London

A fire has broken out underneath Elephant and castle station in London, resulting in a number of explosions.
London Fire Brigade have sent 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters to the scene to tackle the initial blaze, which has spread to three commercial units underneath the railway arches, four cars and a telephone box.

So far it is unknown what caused the fire or whether there have been any injuries. Road closures have been put in place and people are being advised to avoid the area.
