New data pin solution launched by JELD-WEN

JELD-WEN, one of the UK’s doorset manufacturers, has introduced a new data pin solution aimed at improving fire safety compliance.

As reported by JELD-WEN, this new feature, provided by Door Data Systems, will be incorporated into every Certifire doorset produced by the company.

The data pin system enables the Golden Thread of information to be established from the outset.

It offers advanced digital recording and data collection capabilities for fire doorsets in commercial and multi-occupancy buildings.

This innovation aims to enhance traceability and allow responsible parties to demonstrate comprehensive fire door compliance.

Features and benefits of the data pin system

The data pins are installed on the hinge side of the doors during manufacturing.

They provide immediate access to certification, technical documentation, installation guides, warranties, and inspection reports.

This information is stored in a state-of-the-art system accessible via a free app.

The system’s user-friendly central dashboard presents data clearly, requiring no specialist training.

Features like scheduled reminders aid in future fire door maintenance, supporting building management efforts.

Glyn Hauser, R&D Senior Group Manager at JELD-WEN, commented on the system’s impact: “As one of the first manufacturers to introduce this advanced data pin system, we’re advocates for greater transparency throughout the supply chain, which we believe is needed to improve modern fire door practice.”
