Regional manager appointed to lead Bangkok office
Fogmaker International AB has announced the appointment of Fredrik Rönnqvist as regional manager for Southeast Asia.
According to Fogmaker International, the appointment places Rönnqvist in charge of its Bangkok-based representative office, supported by newly appointed office manager Panfah Treelao.
The company said the new leadership will direct business activities across priority sectors including material handling, mining and bus transport.
It explained that Rönnqvist previously worked at the company’s head office in Växjö, Sweden, where he was key account manager responsible for the material handling segment.
Fogmaker added that his experience in that role has prepared him for the new position overseeing regional operations.
Focus on sector-specific applications
Fogmaker International stated that the Bangkok office will initially target material handling, mining and buses as key markets.
It noted that these sectors represent the strongest demand for fire suppression systems in Southeast Asia.
The company commented that focusing resources on these areas will help establish its technology across industries where operational safety and downtime prevention are major concerns.
Fogmaker added that the Bangkok team will support customer requirements through both technical expertise and regional market knowledge.
Fire suppression systems and sustainability
Fogmaker International reported that its systems are designed to be flexible for different industrial and transport applications.
It explained that its Eco 1 suppressant is PFAS free and GreenScreen certified at silver level.
The company said the suppressant reflects its wider environmental objectives and aligns with regulatory trends in several Asian markets.
It noted that tailoring suppression systems for varied conditions in Southeast Asia is an important element of its strategy.
Fogmaker added that it aims to combine Swedish product standards with local adaptation.
Statements from Fogmaker leadership
Fredrik Rönnqvist said: “I am incredibly humbled by the opportunity and trust that management has put in me for this position and look forward to the challenge of strengthening Fogmaker’s position in the region.”
Johan Bjerstedt, sales manager at Fogmaker International, said: “Being close to the costumer base is imperative to being able to build confidence and strong relations.
“Fredrik is the right person to widen Fogmaker’s footprint in Southeast Asia.”
Strengthening customer connections in Southeast Asia
Fogmaker International said that building customer confidence is central to its expansion strategy.
It added that the Bangkok office will provide direct regional support, which the company believes is essential for its growth plans.
The company explained that proximity to customers helps establish stronger long-term partnerships.
It reported that the new office is structured to support market-specific needs with local staff and leadership.
Fogmaker confirmed that these measures are expected to improve responsiveness to customer requirements in the region.
Relevance for fire and safety professionals
This appointment highlights how international fire suppression system providers are establishing offices in regions with growing industrial demand.
For fire and safety professionals, the development signals an increase in the availability of locally based expertise and systems in Southeast Asia.
It also illustrates how environmental standards such as PFAS-free suppressants are being prioritised in new markets.
