Enhanced safety measures for frontline workers
G4S has announced an exclusive partnership with Australian safety technology company Duress.com, as reported by G4S.
This collaboration aims to improve the safety of frontline workers across various sectors using Duress’s advanced wearable devices.
The partnership focuses on addressing the increasing threats of violence and anti-social behaviour faced by frontline staff.
Duress has developed a suite of body-worn devices that provide real-time support and protection for workers.
These devices feature live-streaming video, AI capabilities, emergency service integration, and full communication functions, ensuring immediate assistance is available.
Innovative technology for immediate response
The range of devices includes the Phoenix, Falcon, and Eagle, each offering unique features to meet diverse operational needs.
The Phoenix device, similar in size to a credit card, allows users to discreetly alert security teams and stream video to a 24/7 operations centre.
It also includes slip, trip, and fall detection, mass messaging, and a rechargeable battery with a two-year lifespan.
The Falcon, which can be worn as a watch or pendant, live-streams video, audio, and location data to security teams when activated.
It also features a push-to-talk function and AI-driven policy lookup for enhanced communication and procedural compliance.
The Eagle device offers comprehensive incident reporting and data analysis, live video and audio feeds to connected security personnel, long battery life, and integration with other Duress devices for seamless operation.
Commitment to frontline worker safety
G4S’s partnership with Duress highlights a shared commitment to safeguarding frontline workers.
By combining Duress’s expertise in wearable technology with G4S’s security infrastructure, the partnership aims to provide enhanced protection and support for employees in retail, healthcare, events, and other sectors.
David Munnery of G4S commented on the partnership: “While many of our security officers are already connected via body-worn devices to the broader team and remote monitoring centres, this new partnership with Duress will equip G4S security teams with real-time incident visuals and sound, as well as many other features, which will further advance the effectiveness of our security officers.”
