The company confirmed the news in a release published on its website.
According to Harmony Fire, Hutton will help shape its customer engagement strategy and oversee procurement advice, with a focus on public sector housing contracts.
The company stated that Hutton brings more than two decades of experience in social housing and has previously held senior roles at Tier 1 contractors.
This announcement follows the recent appointment of Ged Moore as Managing Director of Harmony Fire’s Auro technology division.
Hutton to focus on social housing sector
Harmony Fire explained that Hutton’s role will concentrate on working with housing associations and local authorities.
The company said that he will be responsible for enhancing the customer experience programme and promoting social value outcomes.
Rob Hutton said: “Put simply, I’m passionate about the social housing sector as I directly understand the importance of high-quality and safe housing to support a sense of place and the aspirations of individuals and families.

“The breadth and depth of talent at Harmony Fire is a major attractor, as is a real focus on sector disruption to bring technology and innovation, like the recently launched Auro Door product, that will mark a profound step-change for resident safety.”
Leadership appointments follow recent product launch
Harmony Fire stated that Hutton’s appointment is part of a wider growth strategy.
The company reported that both Hutton and Moore join the organisation at a key point following the global launch of its new product, Auro Door.
Connor Mitchell, Director at Harmony Fire, said: “We’re thrilled to announce that Rob and Ged have joined the team, bringing their expertise, deep market knowledge and passion for safety to support our ambitious expansion plans.
“Both individuals have outstanding networks and track-records delivering at the highest levels and join us at a pivotal moment in our history, with the recent global launch of the world’s first self-testing fire door – Auro Door.
“Attracting the highest calibre talent is how Harmony Fire will continue to push the boundaries and challenge the status-quo to constantly improve safety outcomes for residents, while protecting our customers.
“We look forward to working with all our new colleagues as we raise the benchmark for safety in the built environment.”
Company aims to strengthen industry partnerships
Harmony Fire said that part of Hutton’s remit will include helping the business develop new procurement approaches with its partners.
The company stated that this will include long-term work with housing bodies and industry stakeholders to improve building safety across residential estates.
It said that his knowledge of retrofitting and building maintenance will play a role in shaping customer strategies.
Harmony Fire added that both new appointments reflect its aim to embed specialist experience at senior level.
It confirmed that both roles will sit within the organisation’s national leadership structure.
