EN-approved self-testing fire alarm system from Honeywell launched in Europe

Honeywell has announced the release of the NOTIFIER INSPIRE series, a fire alarm system equipped with EN-approved Self-Testing smoke detectors.

As reported by Honeywell, this technology automates the testing process, aiming to improve installation, testing, and maintenance efficiency for fire and life safety systems.

The system is currently available in the UK, Germany, and Spain, with plans to expand availability across Europe in the future.

Features of the NOTIFIER INSPIRE fire alarm system

The NOTIFIER INSPIRE system is designed to provide reliable fire safety protection, scalability, and enhanced monitoring.

Its high-speed fire alarm panel supports flexible reporting and secure connectivity, minimising the need for frequent equipment changes and reducing maintenance costs.

Honeywell highlighted that the system enhances fire technicians’ efficiency with its modularity and intuitive touchscreen, which reduces human error and streamlines building-specific adaptations.

Cloud-based integration with CLSS platform

The system integrates with Honeywell’s Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS) platform, a cloud-based solution that provides real-time fire system visibility to service technicians, facility managers, and installers.

CLSS enables remote diagnostics and troubleshooting, potentially improving first-time fix rates and reducing on-site visit times.

The digital tools provided by CLSS also create an end-to-end electronic audit trail, supporting regulatory compliance and system uptime.

Enhanced testing capabilities for difficult-to-access areas

The Self-Test feature addresses common challenges in testing hard-to-reach areas such as locked rooms or high ceilings.

The detectors self-test by introducing controlled heat and smoke into their detection chambers, ensuring the functionality of Optical and Thermal sensors and verifying unobstructed smoke entry points.

A single technician can conduct tests for an entire building from the NOTIFIER INSPIRE panel, reducing workplace disruptions and providing electronic inspection reports via the CLSS app.

Honeywell launches first EN-approved self-testing smoke detectors: Summary

Honeywell’s NOTIFIER INSPIRE series fire alarm system introduces EN-approved Self-Testing smoke detectors designed to improve fire safety system efficiency and regulatory compliance.

The system integrates with the Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS) platform for real-time diagnostics and electronic compliance reporting.

Available in the UK, Germany, and Spain, the system aims to address maintenance challenges while reducing costs and improving system uptime.
