New regional appointment announced by Hyfire
Hyfire has announced the appointment of Wendie Thomson as Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and Ireland.
According to Hyfire, Thomson joins the company with more than 30 years of experience in the fire safety and security sectors.
She will be responsible for supporting existing partners across the region, developing new business opportunities, and promoting the use of wireless fire detection technology.
Hyfire stated that Thomson previously managed accounts across Scotland, Northern England and Ireland in her former role, where she worked closely with consultants, manufacturers, and project teams.
Born in Southampton to Scottish parents, Thomson holds an HND in Commerce and Business Studies and began her professional career in local government.
Extensive experience across safety and service roles
Hyfire reported that Thomson began her career training in Environmental Health, before transitioning into roles focused on fire safety, risk management and emergency planning.
Her previous positions have included responsibility for both direct sales and national account management, with a focus on technical consultation and project coordination.
The company stated that her new position draws on both commercial and operational experience, with particular emphasis on the benefits of wireless detection technologies.
Thomson said: “As the Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and Ireland I’m looking forward to growing existing relationships to enhance sales as well as expanding our partners’ sector coverage, being mindful of our existing partners capabilities and loyalty, as well as looking at new partners for the sectors/areas we are missing.”
Focus on wireless solutions for construction projects
Thomson added: “I also feel there is a real opportunity within construction and new builds.”
“Working with contractors and consultants, I’ve seen the delays that arise when a site is further along than expected but cable installation is still pending.
“Wireless offers a more efficient project management solution, reducing the need for large installation teams on standby.
“That efficiency translates to real labour cost savings for our partners.”
Hyfire confirmed that increasing awareness of wireless solutions will form a key part of Thomson’s new remit.
Personal background and interests
Hyfire shared that Thomson enjoys spending time with family, reading and watching thrillers.
She was previously an amateur boxer and now participates in a ladies’ dance group that performs a range of styles, including disco and ballet.
Her professional path has included wide engagement with both frontline and strategic aspects of fire safety.
The company stated that she brings a combination of practical industry knowledge, commercial acumen and interpersonal skills.
Hyfire’s commitment to regional growth
Hyfire reported that the appointment is part of a broader strategy to strengthen support in key regions across the UK.
The company said the focus is on expanding its partner network while reinforcing existing collaborations in Scotland and Ireland.
It added that Thomson’s combination of service-side experience and technical sales knowledge is intended to help scale wireless fire system adoption across sectors.
Hyfire said it aims to address misconceptions about wireless fire detection and emphasise its viability across a range of projects, from retrofits to new builds.
The manufacturer stated that it looks forward to continuing its growth with Thomson playing a leading role in regional development.
