Hyfire device adds wireless fire door control

Hyfire has launched the Taurus Wireless Door Holder, a new fire door safety device designed for wireless installation in retrofit projects and live environments.

The company said the device is certified to EN54-25 and EN1155 standards and is compliant with BS 7273 Category B when connected directly to a translator.

The door holder is intended to provide a compliant upgrade path for existing fire alarm systems without major system modifications.

It is fully compatible with any existing fire alarm system.

Installation does not require cabling, I/O modules or a mains supply.

The unit is powered by two standard lithium batteries with a stated five-year lifespan based on daily activation.

Hyfire details holding force and monitoring functions

The Taurus Wireless Door Holder has a 200N magnetic holding force and is designed to hold open heavy fire doors before releasing when a fire alarm is triggered.

The device also provides real-time monitoring of battery status and radio signal strength.

It includes tamper detection along with door supervision options.

These features are intended to support installers, building managers and end users who need monitored fire door control in settings where disruption must be kept low.
