Lam Dong hosts fire safety event for children
Lam Dong Online has reported that a fire safety education event titled I am a firefighter was held in Da Teh Town on 31 May 2025.
According to the publication, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Region 4, under the Lam Dong Provincial Police, delivered the programme in collaboration with the Da Teh Town Youth Union.
Children taking part received practical instruction on fire prevention, rescue skills, and the use of firefighting tools and vehicles. The organisers said the programme formed part of Vietnam’s Month of Action for Children.
Programme offers practical skills and safety knowledge
Lam Dong Online reported that children at the event learned how to handle fire extinguishers, conduct emergency escape procedures, and identify rescue equipment.
The fire team introduced students to the basics of firefighting, including how to approach fires safely and when to call for help.
It was also reported that students actively participated in fire suppression drills and took part in scenario-based escape training.
Event supports national summer education campaign
According to Lam Dong Online, the I am a firefighter programme was held in response to Vietnam’s national Month of Action for Children.
The fire team stated that the aim was to provide a summer activity that would help children develop essential life skills.
It explained that the event also contributed to preserving the history of the Vietnamese firefighting and rescue services.
Organisers highlight role of education in community protection
The Lam Dong Provincial Police noted that fire education for young people helps promote social responsibility.
The Youth Union said it intended the experience to build children’s understanding of fire law and prevention techniques.
According to the organisers, the programme encouraged children to apply their knowledge in everyday life and school settings.
