UK representative elected to IWMA board

The International Water Mist Association (IWMA) has confirmed the election of Lee Haines from Fireworks Fire Protection Ltd. to its board of directors.

As reported by the IWMA, the election was held via an online ballot that took place between 11 and 25 March 2025.

Lee Haines was elected to fill a vacant position following the departure of Alex Palle, who stepped down during the 2024 IWMA member meeting after serving a four-year term.

Lee Haines to represent UK-based interests

Unlike other members of the current board, Lee Haines is based in the United Kingdom.

According to the IWMA, Fireworks Fire Protection Ltd. is listed as an installer of water mist systems and supports both high- and low-pressure technologies.

Commenting on his appointment, Haines said: “I am honoured to get the opportunity to contribute further to the IWMA by sitting on the Board of Directors.

“I am committed to serving within the organisation to the best of my abilities and collaborating with corporate and private members supporting both high- and low-pressure water mist systems, over conventional technologies.”

Board composition defined by association rules

The IWMA board is comprised of a minimum of four and a maximum of ten elected members.

This structure is defined in the association’s governing documents and ensures regular rotation and opportunities for new appointments.

Lee Haines submitted his application for the role two weeks prior to the ballot and was the sole candidate for the vacant position.

Election carried out through online voting

The election process was conducted entirely online, with IWMA members invited to vote between 11 and 25 March 2025.

The association has not disclosed the number of votes cast but confirmed that the result was accepted and that Lee Haines would now begin his term as a board member.
