New general manager Jason Thelwell brings extensive fire safety experience to the FIA

The Fire Industry Association (FIA) has announced that Jason Thelwell will take on the role of General Manager starting 1st March 2025.

As reported by the FIA, Thelwell brings a wealth of experience from his current position as Senior Fire Engineer at Tetra Consulting Ltd.

In this role, Thelwell developed a deep understanding of the fire sector, preparing him for the responsibilities of the General Manager role at the FIA.

He leaves Tetra with positive remarks about his colleagues and the organisation.

Before joining Tetra Consulting, Thelwell served as Chief Fire Officer of Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

His leadership focused on overseeing the service’s strategic direction, performance, and governance.

He worked to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services to protect the public and businesses while promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and diversity.

Thelwell’s background and credentials strengthen the FIA’s capabilities

He is a Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers, holds a BSc in Fire Engineering Management, and is a Chartered Manager following the completion of an executive MBA.
