Kentec to demonstrate life safety systems at Intersec 2026

Kentec Electronics will present its latest life safety technologies at Intersec 2026, taking place from 12–14 January 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The company said the exhibition will feature a range of its recent developments aimed at supporting compliance with new regulations and addressing safety challenges in emerging sectors.

Among the products on display will be K-Detect-iON, a calibration-free flammable gas detector that identifies hydrogen at the earliest off-gassing stage to prevent ignition and enable automatic safety responses in battery energy storage systems (BESS).

According to Kentec, K-Detect-iON is the only UL 2075 calibration-free hydrogen sensor currently available and delivers 10 years of maintenance-free operation, functioning between -30°C and 75°C.

The system integrates with Kentec’s Sigma ZXT panels, which will also be exhibited, allowing real-time monitoring and rapid incident response.

Whole-system certification for BESS protection

Kentec said it has developed a whole-system certification approach for its BESS solution, with all panels, detectors and ancillary devices tested together under UL listings.

Unlike competing solutions, Kentec’s integrated fire prevention system includes a UL 864-approved panel, a UL 268-approved smoke detector and the K-Detect-iON hydrogen sensor with UL 2074 and UL 2075 listings, all certified as a combined system.

This approach, the company explained, aims to support regulatory compliance and reliability across high-risk energy storage facilities.

New PA/VA demonstration with Taktis and K-System

At the event, Kentec will also showcase its public address and voice alarm (PA/VA) solution using the latest EN 54-2 and BS 7273-4 Category A-compliant Taktis fire control panel at its centre.

The setup features K-System, Kentec’s wired addressable fire detection technology, designed to provide an integrated, single-branded system while maintaining open protocol flexibility.

K-System now extends its capabilities to include PA/VA functions and will be available exclusively through Kentec Installation Partners (KIPs) and Kentec Authorised Distributors Plus (KAD+) members.

The company said the system is supported by technical guidance and comprehensive training resources.

Kentec outlines strategic direction and team growth

Derrick Hall, Director of Sales & Marketing at Kentec, said: “Intersec is the premier global event for the security, safety, and fire protection industries.

“It attracted 52,000-plus visitors and 1,200 exhibitors from 61 countries last year.

“The 2026 expo is expected to draw an even larger international audience, all with the aim of exploring cutting-edge technologies, engaging in thought-leadership discussions, and forging connections that will keep the world safe for years to come.”

Hall continued: “That makes Intersec the perfect platform to showcase how Kentec continues to lead the way in life safety innovation.

“Our mission has always been to deliver technology that not only meets, but anticipates, the evolving needs of our industry.”

He added that recent appointments, including Managing Director Kevin Swann’s move to Global Strategy Director for Hochiki Corporation and Gaurav Arora’s appointment as General Manager, Product Management and Technical Support, reflect Kentec’s investment in expertise and growth.

“Every person and solution behind the brand visitors see at Intersec 2026 reflects our commitment to safeguarding people and property through reliability, compliance and innovation,” Hall said.

Kentec will exhibit at stand E22 during Intersec 2026.

Relevance for fire and safety professionals

The new K-Detect-iON hydrogen detector and the fully UL-certified BESS solution will be of interest to system installers, energy safety engineers and fire protection contractors managing risks in battery energy storage facilities.

Integration with Sigma ZXT panels and the inclusion of real-time monitoring capabilities may support procurement officers and electrical engineers responsible for compliance under UL and EN standards.

The expanded K-System and PA/VA demonstration also have practical relevance for consultants, design engineers and building managers seeking integrated voice alarm and detection systems under BS 7273-4 and EN 54-2.
