Magirus sets out growth and transformation plan to 2030

Magirus has introduced a 10-point transformation plan aimed at global growth, emissions reduction, and expanded production, as reported by the company.

The plan was presented on 20 May 2025 at the company’s headquarters in Ulm, Germany.

It follows the acquisition of Magirus by Mutares SE & Co. KGaA in January 2025.

Magirus stated that the strategy is designed to respond to market changes and to support the company’s long-term competitiveness.

Thomas Hilse, CEO of Magirus GmbH, said: “With Mutares, we have an experienced partner at our side who is actively supporting our transformation and investing specifically in our growth.”

“Together, we are shaping the future of Magirus – with a clear vision and at a rapid pace.”

Magirus confirms leadership change from July

As part of the transformation, Magirus confirmed a change in executive leadership, effective 1 July 2025.

The company said Thomas Hilse will move to the Supervisory Board.

Fatmir Veselaj, currently Chief Restructuring Officer, will take on the role of Group CEO.

The company said the transition aligns with its wider organisational realignment and the planned separation from former parent company IVECO.

10-point plan details production, service and defence goals

Magirus confirmed that the transformation plan includes ten areas of focus.

The company will expand internationally by establishing new subsidiaries in Switzerland, Spain, Poland and the United Arab Emirates.

New production operations will be created in Romania and Croatia.

Product development will include further investment in turntable ladders and airport firefighting vehicles, such as the Dragon series.

The company plans to increase annual output to 350 turntable ladders and more than 1,000 fire trucks.

It will also create a new Magirus Defense division, focused on civil and military special vehicles.

Additional measures include expanding the DACH region service network and introducing a platform organisation to improve execution and operations.

Company commits to revenue and emissions targets

Magirus said its annual revenue target is to exceed €750 million by 2030.

The company aims to stabilise profitability in the long term.

It has also committed to reducing emissions from its production to net zero by the same year.

To achieve this, Magirus stated it will adopt renewable energy sources and sustainable production methods throughout its operations.

Thomas Hilse said: “We are shaping the future of Magirus – with a clear vision and at a rapid pace.”
