Bristol uniforms presents managed services in Birmingham
MSA Safety has reported that its subsidiary Bristol Uniforms is presenting its managed services programme for fire protective clothing and PPE at the Emergency Services Show (ESS) in Birmingham.
According to the company, the Bristol Fully Managed Services division provides cleaning, inspection and repair of garments, along with logistical support for fire brigades across the United Kingdom.
It said that all operations are conducted in-house, enabling the team to respond quickly to specific needs and maintain compliance with relevant UK standards.
The company explained that recent facility upgrades have increased throughput, allowing large volumes of garments to be processed while maintaining accountability and garment quality.
Bristol also confirmed that the service covers a range of equipment, including helmets, boots, hoods and gloves.
Product ranges on display at ESS
MSA Safety noted that Bristol Uniforms exhibited its protective clothing lines during the show.
The company highlighted the Rescue Stretch garment, which uses GORE-TEX CROSSTECH PYRAD stretch fabric to provide flexibility, water resistance, wind proofing and blood-borne pathogen protection.
It added that the X4 Wildland garment was developed for use in hot conditions, where structural suits may be less efficient.
According to the manufacturer, the X4 TRW-Hybrid suit is intended for both technical rescue and wildland applications.
It also presented the X4 Structural suit, which conforms with EN269:2020 Level 2 and EN1149.5:2018 standards and can be customised.
Partners feature alongside Bristol
MSA Safety reported that Bristol’s booth included presentations from two partner companies.
It said that PGI Safety demonstrated its particulate blocking hoods, which Bristol distributes exclusively in the United Kingdom.
The company explained that Gore also exhibited textiles used in Bristol garments, continuing its role as a long-term strategic supplier.
MSA added that the presence of these partners illustrated the range of collaborations that support its protective clothing portfolio.
MSA connected firefighter platform
According to MSA Safety, the Connected Firefighter Platform was also demonstrated at the exhibition.
The company said the platform integrates data from PPE into cloud-based systems that can be monitored on-scene or remotely.
It added that the M1 SCBA, MSA HUB and FireGrid applications form part of this ecosystem, allowing direct transmission of breathing apparatus data to incident commanders.
MSA stated that these capabilities can support decision-making, safety monitoring and post-incident analysis.
Fire helmet portfolio
MSA Safety confirmed that it displayed its GALLET helmet line at ESS.
The company reported that the GALLET F2XR helmet is certified for water operations, wildland firefighting, technical rescue, urban search and rescue and climbing.
It said that this model includes accessories such as an integrated visor and waterproof ear covers for use on motorised boats.
MSA also exhibited the GALLET F1XF helmet, marking 40 years of the F1 line in service.
The organisation explained that this model represents the latest development of its long-running design for structural firefighting.
Relevance for fire and safety professionals
This announcement is relevant to professionals who specify, procure or maintain firefighter PPE.
The managed services programme addresses maintenance and compliance obligations under UK standards, an area of concern for brigade managers.
The Connected Firefighter Platform demonstrates the growing role of data in operational safety, providing insight into PPE use and condition.
The helmet and garment portfolio shows how equipment continues to adapt to a wide range of operational environments.
