Murfreesboro Fire Rescue orders three Pierce aerial ladders

Three Pierce Ascendant 107’ Heavy-Duty Aerial Ladders ordered by Murfreesboro Fire Rescue

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh Corporation business, has announced that Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department in Tennessee has ordered three Pierce Ascendant 107’ Heavy-Duty Aerial Ladders through dealer Siddons-Martin Emergency Group.

Serving more than 172,000 residents from 11 stations, the department responds to approximately 25,000 calls each year. The new apparatus will support operations in the city’s increasingly dense environment, including apartment complexes, multi-storey buildings and areas with restricted access.

“Our city continues to grow, bringing new challenges such as increased density, apartment complexes and tighter access areas,” said Deputy Chief Jamie Bigelow.

The apparatus will feature an Enforcer chassis, PACCAR MX-13 engine, Waterous CSU 2,000 GPM pump, 500-gallon water tank and 107’ Ascendant aerial ladder with a single rear axle configuration.

Additional features include 360-degree scene lighting, remote aerial operation, an integrated body camera system and an aerial tip Lyfe pulley rescue system.

Two units will replace existing apparatus, which will move into reserve status, while the third will be assigned to a new ladder company at Station 12.

The department said the apparatus will provide increased aerial reach and maneuverability while supporting its expanding emergency response requirements.
