The qualification is offered in UK and International variants, with the UK version aligned to Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

The update incorporates feedback from learners and industry experts to improve safety training.

Construction industry risks in Great Britain

NEBOSH stated that in 2023/24, 51 fatalities occurred in Great Britain’s construction industry.

This figure represents 37% of all work-related deaths in the country that year.

The organisation noted that the qualification aims to reduce such risks through targeted training.

Key features of the revised syllabus

The company explained that the updated syllabus includes topics like fatigue and inspectors’ powers.

Learners will gain skills to identify hazards, develop safe work systems, and manage contractors.

NEBOSH added that the course supports a positive safety culture in construction workplaces.

Learner feedback and qualification impact

A 2024 NEBOSH survey found that 96% of UK learners would recommend the qualification.
