Krawaree Brigade opens new facility
The Krawaree Rural Fire Brigade in New South Wales has officially opened its newly expanded station, as reported by NSW Rural Fire Service.
The facility, which cost over $65,000, will serve multiple purposes, including meetings, training sessions, workshops, and operational preparations.
NSW Rural Fire Service Assistant Commissioner Viki Campbell attended the opening ceremony, alongside local councillors and brigade members.
Campbell highlighted the importance of the new facility: “The Krawaree Brigade station, which co-exists with Gundillion Community Hall, is a great asset to the close-knit community, providing a space for its 60 volunteer members and others to utilise on a regular basis, not just when emergencies arise.”
Commitment to volunteer support
Assistant Commissioner Campbell reaffirmed the RFS’s commitment to equipping volunteers: “The RFS is committed to providing volunteer firefighters with the equipment and facilities they need to carry out the important work of protecting their local communities from fire and helping at various other emergencies.”
She praised the dedication of Krawaree Brigade members who are available around the clock to respond to emergencies in the Lake George District.
“These men and women remain on-hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we should be extremely proud and grateful for their contribution,” Campbell stated.
Community involvement and support
Acknowledging the broader community’s role, Campbell expressed gratitude to the families, friends, employers, and colleagues of the RFS volunteers.
“We know it takes their ongoing support and patience to assist and enable our volunteers to do what they do to save lives and protect property,” she said.
The new facility is expected to significantly benefit both the brigade and the wider community by providing a versatile space for various activities and emergency preparations.
Importance of new infrastructure
The investment in Krawaree Rural Fire Brigade’s new station underscores the ongoing need to support emergency services with modern infrastructure.
This development aligns with broader efforts to enhance the effectiveness and readiness of firefighting services in New South Wales.
