NFPA announces new Chief Operating Officer for operational leadership

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has announced the appointment of Andy Jenks as chief operating officer.

According to the NFPA, Jenks will now be responsible for overseeing the association’s operations in this newly appointed leadership role.

Jenks joined NFPA in 2018 as vice president of marketing and digital experience, later expanding his role in 2020 to include the IT division.

NFPA President and CEO Jim Pauley commented on the appointment: “Andy is passionate about NFPA’s mission, our stakeholders, and our people, and will play an invaluable role driving meaningful progress for NFPA and our diverse audiences.”

Pauley added that Jenks will contribute to advancing NFPA’s goals and enhancing value for customers.

Jenks’ contributions to NFPA’s marketing and IT development

Since joining NFPA, Jenks has led the marketing and digital transformation efforts, focusing on data-driven strategies.

His work has spanned areas such as traditional print marketing, social media, website development, and search engine marketing.

Additionally, he directed creative services, including the launch of NFPA LiNK, a digital platform for accessing NFPA codes and standards.

Jenks’ expanded role in 2020 saw him take on responsibility for the IT division, strengthening internal systems and improving customer-focused processes.

His initiatives in this capacity have been aimed at enhancing the overall NFPA customer experience.

Career prior to NFPA and experience in digital marketing

Before joining NFPA, Jenks led the digital marketing department at Benjamin Moore & Co., where he managed two development teams.

His career at Benjamin Moore followed his co-founding of Swatchbox Technologies, a firm that developed a virtual design platform, later acquired by Benjamin Moore in 2010.

Jenks’ background in digital marketing and operational management has equipped him with extensive experience in leading teams and developing innovative solutions within the fire protection sector.

Educational background and leadership outlook

Jenks graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science.

He is expected to continue applying his expertise in operational leadership to support NFPA’s strategic objectives and its mission to serve stakeholders across the fire protection industry.
