Kentucky joins growing NFPA affiliate network in the United States
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has reported that the Kentucky Association of Electrical Inspectors has joined its Electrical Inspection Section (EIS) as an Affiliate Chapter.
According to the NFPA, the new chapter will provide training, education, and networking support to electrical inspection professionals in Kentucky.
The NFPA explained that the affiliate model aims to unify efforts across the inspection community and strengthen engagement with the National Electrical Code and other standards.
NFPA highlights role of inspection chapters in advancing electrical safety
Tim McClintock, NFPA regional electrical specialist, said: “NFPA is pleased to welcome its latest EIS Affiliate Chapter.”
McClintock continued: “Through this relationship, NFPA and the Kentucky electrical enforcement community can unite efforts, using our collective voice to help address today’s current and emerging electrical challenges to advance safety in the community.”
McClintock added: “A strong electrical inspection program plays a vital role in safety and compliance with NFPA 70, National Electrical Code and other codes, helping safeguard people and property from electrical-related hazards.”
He said: “The new NFPA EIS Affiliate Chapter actively supports electrical inspection professionals who are charged with understanding the NEC and how its requirements are applied, and is aimed at both meeting their unique needs, as well as preserving the independent voices of those engaged in electrical inspections.”
Kentucky chapter joins other U.S. state inspection bodies
The NFPA stated that the Kentucky Association of Electrical Inspectors joins similar affiliate chapters established in Colorado, Southwest Ohio, and North Carolina.
The organisation noted that this expansion is part of a broader initiative to engage with electrical safety communities across the country.
It also confirmed that two new regional electrical specialist positions have recently been added to support this nationwide effort.
Kentucky chapter representative affirms value of collaboration
Dennis Steier, secretary for the Kentucky Association of Electrical Inspectors, said: “Electrical inspection is a key component to advancing safety in the community, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code and an effective electrical system of safety.”
Steier added: “The Kentucky electrical inspection community is pleased to be working closely with NFPA to meet today’s electrical safety challenges head on, help expand our impact, and position the chapter for the future.”
NFPA expands resources to support electrical safety professionals
The NFPA stated that it continues to support the electrical inspection and enforcement community with access to training programmes, information resources, and technical expertise.

The NFPA also confirmed its role as the developer of the National Electrical Code and related safety codes and guidelines.
