The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has announced enhanced features and a supporting YouTube channel to NFPA LiNK, its subscription-based application that delivers digital NFPA codes and standards, expert commentary and supplemental content.

The NFPA LiNK YouTube channel is designed to complement NFPA LiNK by providing users with supplemental content, enabling them to maximise use of the application.

Kyle Spencer, Director of NFPA LiNK said: “We’re excited to roll out these new features and videos in NFPA LiNK. NFPA LiNK is critical for delivering real-time information to workers and helping them create safer communities and jobsites. In an ever-changing industry, NFPA LiNK is constantly evolving as well to address digital-first needs based on user feedback from the people who are experiencing industry shifts first-hand.”

NFPA LiNK YouTube Channel

Designed with NFPA LiNK end-users in mind, the new YouTube channel provides tutorials and quick-start video guides for optimising NFPA LiNK, as well as content discussing industry-specific codes, classifications, and requirements for electrical, fire, and life safety.

Additionally, the NFPA LiNK YouTube channel is lining up expert insights into digital codes and standards, educational content regarding the state of the industry, and critical insights about the latest in digital technologies.

Code Change Tools

Three recent code change indicators added to NFPA LiNK enable users to easily view and understand NFPA code changes:

  • Change Summaries offer expert insight into code revisions instated since the prior edition.
  • Interactive Change Indicators make it easier for users to identify and understand these updates and deletions from edition to edition.
  • Tentative Interim Amendments (TIA) Change Indicators inform users of code amendments made since the publication was released.

Navigational Improvements

A new expandable and collapsible Table of Contents has been added to enable improved navigation within the NFPA LiNK application. The upgrade is based on user feedback and is to streamline navigation between chapters, articles, and annexes within the interactive publications. The new feature also includes Bookview, enabling users to navigate the entire publication without exiting the screen.
