IFE invites nominations for IGA Vice Leader role
The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) has announced that nominations are now open for the position of Vice Leader of the International General Assembly (IGA).
New terms of reference approved in 2024
In 2024, a new IGA Terms of Reference (ToR) was introduced following a consultation with IGA Leadership and members.
This update aims to improve the ways IFE gathers and utilises the expertise of its members.
Under the new ToR, the eligibility criteria for the Vice Leader role have been expanded.
Graded members of the IFE, with support from an IGA member, are eligible to stand for nomination.
The term has also been extended to two years.
Election process for the Vice Leader position
The nomination process will involve a review by the Nominations Committee.
If more than one candidate is recommended, a ballot will be conducted among IGA members.
The Vice Leader will transition into the IGA Leader role after completing their term.
Deadline for nominations
Candidates must submit their nominations by 12 noon BST on Monday, 30 September 2024.
Nominations submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
For further details, candidates are advised to refer to the nomination form.
