A live Q&A session is scheduled on Facebook on Tuesday, 16 July, at 6:30 pm. Owen said: “You can find out more about the role of a firefighter on our website.”

The service aims to recruit a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities it serves. Applications from all backgrounds are encouraged.

The service emphasised the importance of protecting communities and valuing its personnel.

Owen said: “We believe there is no such thing as a typical firefighter and applications from all backgrounds are encouraged. Protecting our communities is at the heart of everything we do.”

The service supports its employees to reach their full potential, regardless of their background.
