Omniconn secures GCC first with UL 3115 certification
Omniconn has become the first company in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to receive UL 3115 certification for the ethical and secure deployment of artificial intelligence in safety-critical building environments.
The UAE-based firm announced the achievement following an assessment of its Platform 4.0 by UL Solutions, an international leader in applied safety science.
This certification establishes a verified framework for using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) within systems that manage fire panels and other essential building infrastructure.
UL 3115 requires that these technologies operate in a predictable and reliable manner while maintaining appropriate human oversight throughout the lifecycle of the software.
The evaluation ensures that AI systems used in mission-critical applications meet rigorous international standards for risk governance and auditable performance.

The certified Platform 4.0 serves as a centralised dashboard that unifies building management systems, operational technologies and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
It integrates fire panels, sensors and HVAC systems into a single interface to allow for real-time monitoring and predictive analytics across a facility.
This consolidation provides a single point of control for complex operations to help organisations improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.
The technology is designed to interface with existing infrastructure to transform raw data into actionable intelligence for data-driven decision-making.
In addition to safety functions, the platform supports sustainability targets and carbon emission reductions through the optimisation of resource consumption.
The system also incorporates cybersecurity measures to safeguard building operations and prevent unplanned downtime in connected environments.
