Industry event explores PlanRadar’s role in digital construction
PlanRadar recently hosted an industry event in Spain, bringing together stakeholders from engineering, construction, and legal sectors to discuss digital transformation, with participants including Arup, Eversheds Sutherland and construction firm Avintia.
The event focused on moving away from paper-based systems in favour of cloud-based tools that enable full traceability, risk reduction, and better data access.
It added that discussions centred on how platforms like PlanRadar support quality control, dispute avoidance, and the broader application of artificial intelligence in project delivery.
PlanRadar stated that the event marked part of its wider strategy to support digital adoption across the construction industry.
Arup outlines evaluation process for digital adoption
Arup joined the event as a customer of PlanRadar and shared its approach to selecting digital tools.
Sara Briz, Project Manager at Arup, said: “When evaluating tools, we aim for impartiality and seek out the best fit for our needs. In this case, that led us to PlanRadar.
“We chose PlanRadar for its ability to deliver process improvement, automation, and comprehensive data traceability.
“This aligns with our broader AI strategy, enabling our teams to focus on high-value creative and strategic work while maintaining complete digital documentation.”
Arup said its use of PlanRadar forms part of a wider initiative to increase automation and reduce manual reporting tasks on projects.
The firm added that comprehensive data capture was a key requirement during its evaluation of available systems.
Legal insights highlight value of digital documentation
Eversheds Sutherland was invited to contribute its legal perspective on the role of digital tools in construction.
According to PlanRadar, the firm addressed how documentation platforms can support legal processes and reduce the risk of disputes.
Andrés Ponce, Legal Director at Eversheds Sutherland, said: “The use of these types of tools significantly reduces the potential for disputes between stakeholders, creating a more collaborative environment and greater productivity in project development.”
He said digital documentation had become more important as AI tools are increasingly used in legal proceedings related to construction.
PlanRadar stated that the legal contribution helped demonstrate how its system supports audit trails and evidentiary standards.
PlanRadar says industry shift is underway
PlanRadar said the event captured a moment of change for the construction sector, as firms adapt to digital workflows.
Rob Norton, UK Director at PlanRadar, said: “Gathering perspectives from leading firms like Arup and Eversheds, alongside our valued customers like Avintia, at our recent event in Spain, highlights a pivotal moment in construction’s digital evolution.
“We are creating an environment that can deliver benefits including enhanced project quality, comprehensive traceability, significant risk reduction, and improved productivity across the construction value chain.”
PlanRadar said Avintia, one of its largest customers, has already introduced more than 10,000 subcontractors to the system.
It added that cloud-based platforms now offer real-time collaboration between teams, which was previously hindered by manual documentation.
PlanRadar plans further events focused on AI in construction
PlanRadar confirmed it will continue hosting events as part of its industry engagement strategy.
The company said upcoming discussions will place greater focus on artificial intelligence and how it is influencing project delivery models.
It added that digital platforms will play a key role in enabling AI-ready project environments by improving structured data access.
PlanRadar said it aims to support further collaboration between engineering, legal, and project management disciplines through these sessions.
According to the firm, future sessions will also feature customer case studies on the implementation of automated workflows and document audit systems.
