Product unveiled for industrial use across global safety applications
Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection has introduced a new portable gas detection device for personal safety monitoring, designed to measure two gases simultaneously.
The manufacturer announced the launch of the PS DUO on 24 June 2025, highlighting its application in hazardous environments where real-time gas level monitoring is required.
According to Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection, the PS DUO is a compact handheld device that provides audible, visual and vibrating alerts when gas concentrations exceed safety limits.
The PS DUO uses passive diffusion sensing and is available in multiple gas pairing combinations. Target gases include carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxide, ammonia, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen dioxide and ozone.
Teledyne said the detector is ATEX/IECEx-rated and built with a rugged rubberised enclosure, lightweight casing and a replaceable battery designed to last up to two years.
Real-time data logging and safety system integration
The PS DUO includes wireless connectivity and on-device memory for storing up to 30 alarm events.
Teledyne reported that the device’s LCD display provides continuous concentration readouts for both gases.
The device is intended for use across a wide range of sectors including oil and gas, industrial processing and confined space work.
In regions such as the Middle East, Teledyne said the H₂S and SO₂ gas detection capabilities will be especially relevant.
For hydrogen sulphide, the PS DUO supports a measuring range of 0 to 100 ppm with 0.1 ppm resolution. The low and high alarms are set at 10 ppm and 15 ppm respectively.
For sulphur dioxide, users can configure the device for a range of 0 to 20 ppm, also with 0.1 ppm resolution. Low and high alarms are set at 2 ppm and 5 ppm.
Configurable sensor options and international applicability
Teledyne confirmed that users can configure the PS DUO’s dual-gas capabilities to match specific site requirements.
Pawel Kulik, Product Manager for Portables at Teledyne Gas and Flame Detection, said: “With its reliable performance, flexible gas pairings and wireless integration, our PS DUO offers a powerful new option for industrial safety programmes – backed by Teledyne’s global service and support.”
He added: “It adds to an existing and highly successful range of personal safety and gas monitoring solutions that includes our portable Protégé ZM and PS200.”
Related portable monitors from Teledyne
Teledyne’s portable range also includes the Protégé ZM single-gas monitor and the PS200 four-gas compliance monitor.
The Protégé ZM is available in O₂, CO, H₂S and SO₂ versions. The company stated it is a zero-maintenance monitor suited for individual use in field applications.
The PS200 is described by Teledyne as a compact four-gas monitor that is lightweight, water resistant and capable of measuring any combination of LEL, O₂, CO and H₂S.
Teledyne noted that the PS200 includes an internal pump for use in confined space entry and other applications requiring sample draw capability.
Product specifications and warranty
The PS DUO measures 56 x 89 x 21 mm and weighs 200 g.
The company stated it is IP67-rated and ergonomically designed for user comfort.
The device operates on a single replaceable battery and is backed by a two-year warranty.
The PS DUO is intended for continuous operation under normal field conditions.
Teledyne said the combination of alarm feedback, flexible gas pairings and rugged housing make the detector suitable for long-term deployment.
