Acquisition expands presence across Texas
Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Fortress Security.
The firm said this acquisition expands its footprint to more than 20 locations in Texas.
Pye-Barker described the deal as strengthening its ability to deliver integrated fire protection, life safety and security services across the state.
Fortress Security is a provider of commercial fire alarm and security solutions with operations in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.
The company ranks No. 54 on the SDM 100 list of top security providers.
Fortress Security’s operations and services
Fortress Security provides commercial intrusion detection, video surveillance, access control, gate entry systems and monitored fire alarm solutions.
The company also offers flood detection systems and smart building automation that allows customers to manage operations remotely.
Its services are supported by enterprise-level monitoring and custom-designed solutions tailored to business requirements.
According to Fortress Security, its strategy has focused on staff growth and customer service.
Jerrod Smith, founder and owner of Fortress Security, said: “Fortress has always been driven by protecting lives and property, maintaining top-tier, quality customer service every step of the way.
“Joining Pye-Barker is an incredible opportunity for our team to grow and push our mission to new heights.”
Comments from Pye-Barker leadership
Bart Proctor, Chief Executive Officer of Pye-Barker, said: “Today, we welcome Fortress Security to the Pye-Barker family.
“Bringing us to over 20 locations in Texas, Fortress will elevate our ability to deliver best-in-class life safety services to communities statewide – for that, I am extremely grateful.
“We’re assembling a specialized, talented team at Pye-Barker, and I’m confident that the people at Fortress will be a perfect fit.”
The company confirmed that Fortress Security’s technicians will continue to serve customers across Texas.
Pye-Barker added that law firm Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough represented it in the transaction.
Relevance for fire and safety professionals
This acquisition expands Pye-Barker’s capacity to deliver combined fire alarm, life safety and security services across a broad Texas footprint.
For fire-protection contractors and system installers, this may create additional opportunities to partner on integrated fire-alarm and monitoring solutions.
Procurement officers and facility managers in commercial and industrial sectors could gain wider access to enterprise-level security and fire-alarm services, with increased reliability through a larger network of service points.
Fire engineers and risk assessors may also find practical interest in Fortress Security’s combined offering of intrusion, fire, flood and automation technologies, which provide multi-hazard detection and monitoring from a single service provider.
The continuity of Fortress’s technical team means existing clients will maintain service consistency while accessing Pye-Barker’s broader life safety platform.
