In a bid to support the fire protection industry in meeting the latest EN fire standards, ROCKWOOL, a leading insulation manufacturer, has introduced SP FireStop EN. This new addition to their cavity fire stopping products will be officially launched at the FIREX event, held from 16th to 18th May, where ROCKWOOL will showcase their offerings at stand FI. 1640.

SP FireStop EN has several key features designed to enhance fire safety measures. Notably, it features a new black aluminium foil facing that offers higher emissivity, ensuring improved fire resistance. The product has received an impressive fire rating of EI120 for cavities up to 600mm* and is available in two thickness options – SP FireStop EN 60 (75mm) and SP FireStop EN 120 (90mm).

To meet the stringent requirements of the latest test standard for linear joint seals, BS EN 1366-4:2021, ROCKWOOL has subjected the SP FireStop EN range to a rigorous testing schedule. This includes testing for compatibility with Steel Frame Substrates and composite panels.

In addition, ROCKWOOL has conducted specific tests on SP FireStop EN to evaluate its performance in scenarios where installations are restricted, such as applications with limited access or reclad projects. By addressing these challenges, ROCKWOOL aims to provide more flexible solutions to architects, specifiers, and contractors.
