RoSPA launches its 2025 awards programme

As reported by NEBOSH, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has announced the launch of its 2025 health and safety awards.

NEBOSH, a key organisation in health and safety training, is the headline sponsor for the event.

Applications are now open for individuals, businesses, and organisations to be recognised for their contributions to health and safety.

The RoSPA Awards programme is the UK’s longest-running occupational health and safety recognition, having started in 1956.

The awards celebrate organisations of all sizes for their commitment to safety management systems.

The Inspirational Awards also highlight the achievements of individuals and teams for their efforts in promoting safety.

NEBOSH continues its support as headline sponsor

NEBOSH and RoSPA have maintained a long-standing relationship, working together to advance health and safety standards globally.

NEBOSH was founded in 1979 and, alongside RoSPA, has been involved in initiatives that have helped save lives over the years.

Both organisations encourage participation from a diverse range of applicants, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large companies.

Judging for the RoSPA Awards involves a panel of senior occupational health and safety professionals.

Dee Arp, NEBOSH’s Chief Quality Officer, will chair the judging panel.

The collaboration between RoSPA and CHAS will simplify the entry process for CHAS members.

Statements from RoSPA and NEBOSH

Rebecca Hickman, CEO of RoSPA, expressed enthusiasm for the awards: “We are delighted to kick off the RoSPA 2025 Awards and honoured to have NEBOSH by our side as headline sponsor.

“Together, we have a long history of improving the health, safety and wellbeing of our communities and the Awards is the perfect way for us to stand together and make a difference.”

Andy Shenstone, Chief Executive of NEBOSH, shared similar sentiments: “Aligned with our new strategy, we’re committed to advancing NEBOSH’s mission through social purpose initiatives that expand our charitable impact in the UK and globally.

“Collaborating with like-minded organisations is crucial to our success, and as a fellow charity, we’re honoured to support RoSPA’s vital work in preventing harm.”

Application process and benefits for RoSPA members

RoSPA encourages organisations of all sizes to apply for the awards.

The application process has been streamlined, especially for members of the CHAS health and safety accreditation scheme, making it easier for these businesses to participate.
