Ceaton Security joins Senseco Systems in UK-wide fire safety expansion

FRP Advisory Trading has reported that Cardiff-based Ceaton Security has been acquired by Senseco Systems, a UK fire protection specialist, in a deal designed to strengthen fire detection services across the UK.

Ceaton Security, which was established in 1991, offers fire detection, security, automation and fire door systems.

The company provides services to both public and private sector clients including the Welsh Government, Great Western Railway and the Welsh Rugby Union.

The acquisition was supported by FRP Corporate Finance.

The team was led by director Thomas Edwards and supported by executive Jade Burgess and associate Twm Westcott.

Fire detection business retains name following acquisition

Ceaton Security will continue operating under its current name alongside the Senseco Systems brand.

The decision is aimed at supporting joint growth while maintaining Ceaton’s existing client relationships.

Senseco will integrate Ceaton’s capabilities into its national operations, which include fire detection, sprinklers, suppression, security, passive fire protection and automation systems.

The acquisition is part of Senseco’s ongoing buy-and-build strategy.

The company is backed by private equity firm Foundation Investment Partners.

FRP Corporate Finance supports trade sale of Ceaton

FRP Corporate Finance was appointed by Ceaton managing director Angie Beasley to explore a trade sale.

The team prepared the business for sale, identified a buyer, led negotiations and managed the project through to completion.

Thomas Edwards, director at FRP Corporate Finance, said: “It’s been a pleasure to have advised Angie on the transaction.

“The business attracted significant market interest, which is not surprising considering the impressive growth that has been achieved since she led a management buyout back in 2022.

“Under Senseco Systems, Ceaton Security can continue to deliver its exceptional, specialised services across Wales and the South West of England.”

Ceaton to maintain client focus under new ownership

Angie Beasley, managing director at Ceaton Security, said the transaction supports the business’s commitment to client service and local relationships.

Beasley said: “Since starting out over 30 years ago, we’ve prided ourselves on providing a high-quality service to our clients, and this deal will allow us to continue to do that with a partner that understands the importance of our longstanding relationships and deep foothold within the local market.

“Senseco is a business with values and a culture like our own, making this deal a good fit for both our clients and employees.

“The support provided by Thomas and the entire team at FRP Corporate Finance was second to none and helped us to achieve a deal with a business that we’re looking forward to working with over the coming years.”
