Siemens expands sustainable fire safety portfolio with SEM-SAFE systems
Siemens Smart Infrastructure has completed its acquisition of Danfoss Fire Safety, a Denmark-based specialist in fire suppression technology.
According to Siemens, the acquisition brings high-pressure water mist and low-pressure COâ‚‚ fire suppression systems into its portfolio, enhancing its capacity to provide sustainable and efficient solutions.
Susanne Seitz, CEO Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings, said: “With Danfoss Fire Safety’s efficient, non-polluting extinguishing system, we are able to serve customers globally with an environmentally friendly fire suppression solution.”
Danfoss Fire Safety continues as a separate entity
The acquired company, Danfoss Fire Safety, was previously a non-core business of Danfoss Group and will continue to operate independently under the name SEM-SAFE Fire Safety A/S.
The acquisition builds on Siemens’ October 8, 2024, announcement of its intent to acquire the business.
Siemens described the addition of SEM-SAFE systems as integral to its sustainable development goals within fire safety.
Focus on environmentally friendly fire suppression
The SEM-SAFE portfolio includes systems designed to minimise environmental impact, aligning with industry trends prioritising sustainability in fire safety.
The acquisition is expected to bolster Siemens’ growth across key sectors, with a particular focus on reducing the environmental footprint of fire suppression technologies.
