Streamlight launches new Sledge headlamp

Streamlight has reported the launch of the Sledge rechargeable flood headlamp for professional and outdoor use.

According to the company, the headlamp provides four output modes, extended run times, and a temporary high-output feature for demanding situations.

It stated that the product is designed for utility workers, contractors, work crews, and outdoor users such as hikers and campers.

Streamlight added that the headlamp combines durable materials, rechargeable power, and field-ready performance.

The manufacturer explained that the unit is available in black and is covered by its limited lifetime warranty.

Technical performance and output modes

Streamlight explained that the Sledge offers a High setting of 600 lumens with a run time of four hours and 15 minutes.

It added that the Medium mode produces 300 lumens for nine hours and 15 minutes, while the Low mode delivers 100 lumens for 13 hours.

The company noted that a flood beam design provides wide, consistent illumination for task work.

It continued that the THRO (Temporarily Heightened Regulated Output) feature supplies a 1,000-lumen burst for 60 seconds, activated by a three-second press.

This temporary mode is intended for critical tasks requiring higher brightness on demand.

Power supply and charging options

Streamlight said the headlamp can run on the supplied SL-B26 rechargeable lithium-ion battery or two CR123A lithium batteries.

The company explained that the rechargeable option allows users to power the headlamp repeatedly without disposable batteries.

It noted that the SL-B26 battery can be recharged in five hours outside the light via USB-C.

A charge status indicator is included to inform users of remaining power levels.

The manufacturer added that this design supports both convenience and reliability in varied working conditions.

Durability and environmental resistance

Streamlight reported that the Sledge is constructed from polycarbonate thermoplastic with an aluminium faceplate.

It stated that the headlamp includes an unbreakable polycarbonate lens for added protection.

The company explained that the product is impact resistant to two metres.

It added that the unit has an IPX4 water-resistance rating for operation in wet conditions.

According to the manufacturer, these features allow the headlamp to withstand demanding environments and extended use.

Hands-free and ergonomic design

Streamlight outlined that the headlamp includes both a rubber hardhat strap and an elastic head strap.

It stated that the hardhat strap is pre-installed.

The company explained that the light features a 45-degree tilting head to allow precise beam positioning.

It added that the compact design measures 4cm high, 9.5cm wide, and 4.4cm deep.

The headlamp weighs 130.4 grams including the SL-B26 battery pack.

Product availability and warranty

Streamlight confirmed that the Sledge headlamp is available in black.

It stated that the product is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

The company explained that the Sledge is intended to support both long work shifts and outdoor activities.

Michael F. Dineen, Streamlight President, said: “We designed the Sledge to meet the demands of hard-working professionals such as utility workers, contractors and work crews, as well as outdoor users like hikers and campers.

“This headlamp is engineered to power long work shifts and deliver dependable performance, even in harsh environments.”

Relevance for fire and safety professionals

The Streamlight Sledge may be relevant to fire and safety professionals who require reliable, rechargeable lighting for extended operations.

The headlamp’s multiple output settings and high-intensity burst mode could assist in environments where visibility needs change rapidly.

Its water resistance and impact-tested construction provide durability in operational conditions.

The availability of hands-free mounting options may be of use during technical tasks or prolonged emergency responses.
