Teledyne FLIR presents new technology at Electra Mining 2024
Teledyne FLIR will showcase its latest thermal imaging solutions for the mining industry at Electra Mining 2024, held in Johannesburg from 2nd to 6th September.
The company will demonstrate equipment focused on condition monitoring and early fire detection, aimed at improving efficiency and safety in mining, utilities, and manufacturing industries.
Thermal imaging solutions for mine safety and efficiency
Teledyne FLIR’s cameras are designed to detect thermal overload in mining operations before issues become critical.
The cameras’ high image clarity allows for easy identification of hotspots, helping to prevent downtime and enhance site safety.
FLIR cameras can monitor high-voltage systems essential to mining operations, both on the surface and underground.
This includes the monitoring of transformers powering critical systems such as watering and refrigeration.
Showcasing advanced thermal camera models
At Electra Mining 2024, Teledyne FLIR will present a range of innovations, including IP67-rated aluminium housings for its A400, A500, A700, A50, and A70 thermal imaging cameras.
These housings maintain the cameras’ accuracy even in harsh conditions, allowing for reliable monitoring.
The company will also introduce R&D kits featuring A50 and A70 cameras, providing users with comprehensive thermal profiling capabilities.
These kits offer engineers essential data to support critical decisions in challenging environments.
Thermal and acoustic imaging for diverse applications
Teledyne FLIR will display other thermal imaging products such as the ExPro series, which provides high thermal resolution, and the Si series acoustic cameras for rapid detection of air and vacuum leaks, as well as electrical discharge.
Models from the FLIR ONE series, which connect to smartphones, will also be presented, offering users a range of accessible and affordable thermal imaging options.
