Intrinsic Fire Protection to join Triangle Group’s passive fire division
Triangle Fire has acquired Intrinsic Fire Protection, a specialist in passive fire safety systems, expanding its portfolio in the UK fire protection sector.
Founded in 2016 by Cliff and Amanda Spruce, Intrinsic Fire Protection, based in Harlow, Essex, provides services including fire stopping, structural steel protection, and fire door installation.
The company serves several clients nationally, including NHS trusts, universities, and housing associations such as Notting Hill Genesis.
Intrinsic’s leadership team, including Managing Director Cliff Spruce and Technical Director Remy Chandler, will continue to lead operations under the Triangle Group as part of its passive fire division.
Leadership expresses optimism about acquisition benefits
Cliff Spruce, Managing Director of Intrinsic, stated that this acquisition marks an opportunity for growth and continued success for Intrinsic’s team and clients.
Spruce said: “After many years in the passive fire protection industry and latterly working with Remy and Amanda to grow Intrinsic to what it is today, it’s very pleasing to have found an excellent home for the business to allow it and the team to continue to flourish.”
He expressed confidence in the collaboration with Triangle’s team to expand service options for both companies’ clients.

Colin Chantler, CEO of Triangle, described the acquisition as an important step that brings Intrinsic’s established reputation and expertise into Triangle’s offerings.

He highlighted the shared values between both companies and the opportunity to enhance client services across both passive and active fire protection.
Advisors assist in facilitating acquisition
The acquisition process was advised by corporate finance and legal professionals.
Dow Schofield Watt’s Midlands office, led by partner Harry Walker and director Fahim Kassam, provided advisory services to Intrinsic’s shareholders.
Commenting on the acquisition, Walker said: “We couldn’t have found a better home for Intrinsic than Triangle.”
Legal representation for Intrinsic was provided by Nelson’s, led by Rachel Bennett, while Triangle received advisory support from Browne Jacobson, led by Ryan Brown.
