Revenue growth and acquisitions support financial success

UAP Ltd, a door hardware specialist based in Manchester, reported a revenue of £28.4 million for the year ending April 2024, marking its 15th consecutive year of revenue growth, as reported by UAP.

Revenue increased by over a third, bolstered by acquisitions and organic expansion.

In December 2022, UAP acquired Security Hardware, followed by the acquisition of Maher London in January 2023.

Additionally, UAP launched Fire Door Maintenance (FDM), a business line focused on fire door safety.

FDM provides fire door inspection, maintenance, and training services aimed at ensuring safety compliance.

In 2023, FDM introduced the UK’s first practical training centre for fire door professionals, a 3,000 sq ft facility offering both theoretical and hands-on training for fire door inspectors, installers, and maintainers.

Introduction of anti-viral technology with Armasmart

In early 2024, UAP licensed Armasmart technology from Armadillo Metal Coatings, leading to the release of a unique anti-viral and anti-microbial door hardware range.

This patented technology can eliminate 99.98% of viruses, including COVID-19, providing an alternative to stainless steel by reducing the risk of germ transmission while preventing tarnishing and corrosion.

The new Armasmart product line is designed for use in healthcare, commercial, and residential environments where safety and cleanliness are priorities.

According to UAP, this development reflects its commitment to meeting customer needs with innovative door hardware solutions backed by extensive research.

Operational consolidation at new headquarters

After operating from multiple sites across the UK, UAP consolidated its facilities in a new 120,000 sq ft headquarters in Bury, Greater Manchester, following a £750,000 investment.

The new facility has enhanced operational efficiency, with stockholding capacity more than doubled and improved order fulfilment processes.

To further strengthen operations, UAP has expanded its supply chain team in India, which has supported economies of scale with suppliers and improved customer satisfaction.

The centralisation of operations has positioned UAP to streamline services and maintain growth.

Awards and recognition in 2024

UAP Ltd received several awards in 2024, including “Training Centre of the Year” at the National Fenestration Awards for its FDM training facility.

The company was also awarded “Hardware Company of the Year” and recognised as “Supplier of the Year” at the London Construction Awards.

Additionally, UAP is nominated for “Outstanding Business of the Year” at the upcoming This is Manchester Awards.
