Video: MSA demonstrates connected firefighter safety ecosystem

Lewis Tyler, Managing Editor of International Fire and Safety Journal, speaks with Francesca Breen, Customer Marketing Manager at MSA, about the company’s connected firefighter safety ecosystem, which provides real-time monitoring of firefighters’ air supply, movement and alarm status.

The system connects the firefighter’s SCBA control module with M1 repeaters and the MSA Hub, allowing information to be transmitted across high-rise buildings, underground facilities and large industrial complexes to incident commanders.

Breen explains how commanders can monitor firefighter status in real time, view air pressure and remaining time, receive alarm notifications and initiate evacuations remotely. She also highlights growing interest in the system’s ability to capture and store operational data, allowing fire services to review logs and information after an incident.
