WAGNER Rail to unveil rolling stock fire protection innovations at InnoTrans 2026

WAGNER Rail will showcase new fire protection technologies for rolling stock, including a compact water mist system and battery module, at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin
WAGNER Rail has announced it will present a range of new fire protection technologies for rolling stock at InnoTrans 2026, taking place in Berlin from 22–25 September.
Exhibiting in Hall 2.2, Booth 250, the company will showcase innovations in fire detection, fire suppression and power supply systems designed specifically for modern rail vehicles. WAGNER will also host a technical presentation by Dr. Markus Müller, Managing Director of WAGNER Rail GmbH, on 23 September at the EventStage in Hall 2.2.
Among the new products on display will be the FirExting® Water Mist Compact, which is being unveiled in Germany for the first time. The compact water mist system is designed for passenger compartments, sleeping coaches, train kitchens and restrooms.
The system combines water and nitrogen within a single container, enabling a space-saving installation while providing effective fire suppression. According to WAGNER, it also reduces water consumption, minimises consequential damage following activation, simplifies maintenance and allows for quick replacement after use.
WAGNER Rail will also introduce a new battery module designed to support fire protection systems in rolling stock. The company says the module offers high power density in a compact form, providing greater flexibility when integrating safety systems into vehicles where installation space is limited.
The exhibition will also feature WAGNER’s TITANUS® aspirating smoke detectors, which are designed to provide very early fire detection in rolling stock applications. The detectors offer high resistance to nuisance alarms and are suitable for passenger compartments, equipment rooms and underfloor areas.
The company says the TITANUS® systems can be integrated discreetly into vehicle interiors, allowing operators to maintain modern interior designs while meeting fire safety requirements.

During InnoTrans, Müller will also deliver a presentation titled Latest Innovations in Fire Protection Systems for Passenger Coaches, Sleepers, High-Speed, and EMU Trains, providing further insight into current approaches to fire detection and fire suppression in the rail sector.
