ZIEGLER completes final delivery in October 2024

ZIEGLER has completed the delivery of 15 firefighting vehicles to Luxembourg’s Corps Grand-Ducal d’Incendie et de Secours (CGDIS) throughout 2024.

The initial batch of nine vehicles was delivered in August, with the remaining six arriving in October.

These vehicles include five LF 20 models and ten HLF 20 models, each designed to meet the specific operational needs of CGDIS.

The newly delivered vehicles are distributed across multiple fire stations in Luxembourg, with specific models, including the HLF 20 4×2 and LF 20 4×4, allocated to stations in areas such as Dudelange, Kayl, and Petange.

These models feature advanced firefighting systems, including Ziegler’s Z-Control and Foam System 24.

Advanced technology for CGDIS operations

Each vehicle is outfitted with advanced firefighting technology aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and safety.

The HLF 20 models, built on a Mercedes-Benz Atego chassis, include a 2,000-litre water tank, a 200-litre foam tank, and the Ziegler FPN 10-3000-1H centrifugal fire pump.

Additional features include Z-Control for intuitive operation and an integrated light mast to support visibility in low-light conditions.

The LF 20 models, also on Mercedes-Benz Atego chassis, are similarly equipped, with a larger 2,500-litre water tank and the Z-Control system.

This configuration supports rapid response needs in varying terrain across Luxembourg.

Strengthening Luxembourg’s firefighting fleet

With the 2024 deliveries, CGDIS now has 38 Ziegler vehicles in its fleet, an addition that aims to bolster emergency response capabilities.

Since 2018, CGDIS has received multiple vehicle types from Ziegler, which the organisation integrates into its fleet to address varied firefighting requirements.

The ongoing collaboration between CGDIS and Ziegler underscores a shared commitment to advancing fire safety and operational readiness within Luxembourg.

Ziegler’s contribution reflects its role in supplying vehicles tailored to meet the country’s firefighting standards.

CGDIS vehicle distribution across Luxembourg

The 15 vehicles have been assigned to several locations throughout Luxembourg, each tailored to meet local firefighting requirements.

Fire stations receiving these vehicles include Dudelange, Kayl, Schengen, and Rambrouch.

This distribution supports CGDIS’s objective of maintaining comprehensive coverage and preparedness for emergency response throughout the region.
