A significant move in the security doors and fire doors sector as Sunray Engineering joins ASSA ABLOY

ASSA ABLOY, a global leader in door opening solutions, has confirmed its acquisition of Sunray Engineering Group Ltd.

Based in the UK, Sunray Engineering is a renowned designer and manufacturer of high specification steel and timber security doors, fire doors, and louvre systems.

Noting the benefits brought by the new addition to the group, Neil Vann, Executive Vice President of ASSA ABLOY and Head of EMEIA Division, commented: “With Sunray Engineering and its great team, we want to develop our presence within the high specification doors and louvre systems markets.”

He continued: “Sunray Engineering has a long and successful history in the UK, making it a fantastic opportunity to help us realise our growth ambitions and expand our full door specification offering.”

Sunray Engineering, founded in 1980, employs around 70 staff members and has its main office in Kent, South East England.

In terms of financial impact, the firm reported sales for 2022 amounting to roughly MGBP 12 (approximately MSEK 150) with a strong EBIT margin.

It has been stated that the acquisition will have a positive effect on earnings per share from the outset.
