Report drafting underway

The Grenfell Tower Inquiry has published its November 2023 newsletter, revealing progress in drafting the final report.

The Inquiry Panel is currently engaged in the rule 13 process, which involves notifying individuals and organisations potentially subject to criticism in the report.

This process has reached over halfway, with more than 100 warning letters sent so far.

Chapters covering various aspects, including the history of the refurbishment, the London Fire Brigade’s (LFB) response, and the conduct of product manufacturers, are nearing completion.

However, the extensive evidence collected necessitates a prolonged drafting period, with the final report’s publication expected no earlier than April next year.

Continued document publication

Post the conclusion of Phase 2 hearings, the Inquiry team is focused on a sweep-up and publication process.

Documents are being continually added to the Inquiry’s website, ensuring transparency and accessibility of information to the public.
