The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has announced the launch of this year’s Safety Stand Down campaign, which will run from 18-24 June.

The Safety Stand Down Sweepstakes Quiz is now live and aims to reinforce the importance of safely handling lithium-ion batteries in various situations.

Organised by the NFPA, International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Safety, Health & Survival Section, National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), and the Fire Department Safety Officers Association (FDSOA), the campaign calls on fire departments across the UK to suspend non-emergency activities during the week and train on lithium-ion battery response.

Participants who complete the quiz by 21 June 2023 will be entered into a sweepstakes to win one of 200 limited-edition challenge coins commemorating this year’s theme.

The quiz is available on the Safety Stand Down website at: www.SafetyStandDown.org.

The campaign website provides a wealth of information, training, and resources to help prepare for the week of training. The organisers will also update the site with new content and event updates in the coming weeks.
