Streamlight Inc., renowned for its high-performance lighting solutions, has introduced the upgraded Waypoint 400, a successor to the well-received Waypoint 300 model. The innovative handheld spotlight, now offering a staggering 1,400 lumens of vivid white light, delivers superior illumination with 400,000 candela and a beam stretching 1,265 metres, significantly enhancing down-range lighting capability. The spotlight offers versatility with its dual-use functionality: a mobile searchlight or a stand-supported scene light.

Spotlight features tailored for optimum use

Michael F. Dineen, the Chief Revenue Officer of Streamlight, noted the Waypoint 400’s capabilities, pointing out the “extreme brightness” and the “far-reaching beam for extreme distance lighting”. He underlined the spotlight’s water resistance and its buoyancy, making it a perfect fit for boating and other outdoor activities. Dineen also drew attention to its balanced weight design, which reduces hand fatigue, a feature welcomed by industrial workers and first responders.

Technological prowess for superior lighting

The Waypoint 400 utilises power LED technology combined with a deep-dish parabolic reflector. This combination achieves optimum peripheral illumination along with targeted long-range lighting. The spotlight is designed to offer three brightness settings – high, medium, and low – catering to a variety of lighting needs. From a 1,265-metre beam and 1,400 lumens on high to a 200-metre beam and 38 lumens on low, the Waypoint 400 delivers between 3.25 to 84 hours of operation time on respective settings.

Reliable and durable design

The spotlight runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, boasting a quick four-hour charge time and a helpful LED indicator showing the charging status. Designed for rugged use, the Waypoint 400 is equipped with a robust, unbreakable polycarbonate lens, secured with O-ring seals. The cushioned grip handle and trigger-style switch for continuous or momentary operation ensure comfortable and easy use. Moreover, the lightweight design of 691g, dimensions of 17.15cm by 18.14cm, and the addition of an adjustable high-strength wrist lanyard enhance its portability and convenience. The IPX8-rated waterproof design, resilient to two metres underwater, and impact resistance to one metre, reinforce the spotlight’s reliability and durability.
