ASFP grows its Technical & Regulatory Affairs team

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) continues its trajectory of growth with the recent addition of two new members to its team.

The association’s official website provides a comprehensive overview of its ongoing efforts to amplify its technical and member services.

Stuart Southall: A seasoned addition to the Technical team

Stuart Southall, boasting 18 years of experience in the construction industry, has been appointed to the Technical Officer role.

His professional journey includes a tenure as a Technical and Sales Manager, and a Regional Fire Protection Manager for Encon, an ASFP member.

Specialising in passive fire protection, particularly in areas like walls, ceilings, steel, and concrete protection, his appointment is expected to bring a wealth of knowledge to the ASFP.

Reflecting on his new role, Southall said: “I’m keen to raise fire safety awareness and am looking forward to further developing ASFP publications, playing an active role at events, and assisting with technical queries.”

Rebecca Barber steps in for maternity cover

Adding to the list of new team members, Rebecca Barber has joined ASFP, providing maternity cover for Sona Chandi in the capacity of Finance & Membership Executive.

With a background as an AAT Level 2 qualified Accounts Assistant and a previous position as an Accounts and Office Manager for Sentinel Gas Systems, Barber is poised to contribute significantly to the ASFP’s administrative endeavours.

Managing Director ASFP Managing Director Mike Ward warmly welcomed the duo, stating: “We are thrilled to welcome Stuart and Becky.

“The expansion of the Technical & Regulatory Affairs team has been long in the planning.

“Andy’s promotion is well-deserved, and Stuart’s extensive experience in fire safety and the construction industry is invaluable to us.

“Becky’s addition to the administrative team, given her expertise, will surely benefit our members.”

IFSJ Comment

The ASFP’s decision to bolster its team emphasises its commitment to enhancing its technical capabilities but also ensuring the best for its members.

Both appointments underscore ASFP’s forward-looking vision and its promise to its members and the larger fire protection community.
